Position Overview

The Remote Customer Service Representative is the first point of contact for parishioners and community members seeking information, assistance, or support. This role handles incoming communications, provides accurate information about parish programs and services, assists with scheduling and registrations, and ensures inquiries are responded to in a caring and professional manner.

The ideal candidate is patient, service-oriented, organized, and an excellent communicator who values supporting a faith-based community.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and online inquiries from parishioners and the public
  • Provide clear and accurate information about parish events, sacraments, ministries, and services
  • Assist parishioners with registrations, scheduling, and completing online forms
  • Route questions or concerns to the appropriate staff or ministry leaders
  • Document inquiries, issues, and follow-up actions in parish communication systems
  • Maintain knowledge of parish programs, policies, and schedules
  • Assist with digital bulletin or announcement updates as needed
  • Support basic administrative tasks such as data updates and documentation
  • Ensure all interactions reflect the parish’s values of courtesy, compassion, and hospitality
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous experience in customer service, reception, administrative support, or call center roles
  • Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, professional demeanor
  • Ability to manage multiple inquiries and prioritize tasks
  • Comfortable learning parish systems and digital tools (email, calendars, CRM platforms, etc.)
  • Reliable internet connection and personal computer
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining service-quality standards

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a church, school, nonprofit, or community organization
  • Knowledge of Catholic parish life, ministries, or sacramental processes
  • Familiarity with Flocknote, ParishSOFT, Realm, or similar platforms
  • Basic experience with scheduling or call-routing tools
