Creator Platform Policy Strategy & Development Manager
San Mateo, CA / Hybrid

Game creators, publishers, developers and creator-enablers are an integral part of PlayStation’s ecosystem, and understanding and addressing their needs, priorities, and points of friction is essential to keeping PlayStation as the Best Place to Publish. Our teams within Global Partner Development & Relations are passionate about supporting our large community of game creators, publishers and developers.

Join us in supporting game creators as the Creator Platform Policy Strategy & Development Manager. This role will be instrumental in shaping the PlayStation ecosystem crafting strategies and policies that cultivate a dynamic environment for our partners, all while safeguarding the platform integrity and the trust of our users.

What you'll be doing:

  • Orchestrate the creation of a long-term policy strategy, ensuring its tight alignment with PlayStation's core strategic mission and business goals.
  • Craft, review, and evolve platform policies, balancing the need to empower partners with player needs.
  • Build cross-functional programs to tackle sophisticated policy challenges and establish solutions through close liaison with strategy, product, engineering, operations, and legal teams.
  • Supervise and respond to evolving trends, risks, and regulatory changes within the digital platform landscape.
  • Establish and supervise frameworks for assessing policy efficacy and recommending iterations on design and process.
  • Advise as the primary authority on policy, steering internal teams across the organization.
  • Write clear, concise, and accessible policy documentation for internal audiences.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., policy, law, communications, technology, ethics). A Master's, MBA, or equivalent experience preferably in business strategy, would be a plus.
  • Understanding of platform economics, network effects, two-sided markets, and the dynamics of platform growth is essential.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in policy development and implementation within a technology or platform business environment.
  • Proven success in presenting sophisticated policy issues and driving consensus among senior management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in technology and modern media environments. Experience or knowledge of games, development, and publishing would be an asset.
  • High-level comprehension of technical specifications, requirements, and SDK documentation, particularly in relation to game production and development, would be hugely beneficial.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$126,700$190,100 USD
