Creative Ad Strategist - The Rundown

An opportunity to join an exciting, well-funded and fast-growing creator economy business.

Electrify is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creators with an established YouTube presence. We have invested in various leading channels and The Rundown is one of the leading channels in our portfolio.

The Rundown is the world’s largest AI community, informing millions of people around the world about everything going on in AI, why it matters, and how you can apply it. Our daily newsletter and social media channel engage with millions each day, and our AI University gets hands-on and educates thousands of members on using AI tools.

Come and build the future of media with us!

About the role

As an Creative Ad Strategist at The Rundown, you'll own the creative engine that powers our paid growth. You'll research, ideate, write, produce, launch, and analyze ads across Meta (primary channel), with secondary ownership of Google, X/Twitter, and newsletter ad placements. This is a full-stack role: you'll go from insight to live ad without waiting on handoffs, and you'll use AI tools to compress the creative cycle. You'll work directly with the Head of Growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research & analyze performance data: Mine historical ad data, Meta Ads Manager, and competitor ads to identify winning patterns, hooks, and angles. Build a clear reporting cadence on what's working, what's fatiguing, and what to test next.

  • Ideate, write & script ads: Generate ad angles, hook lists, and full scripts (talking-head, UGC, text-over-video, static) grounded in our ICP and voice. Write briefs for creators and editors when support is needed.

  • Produce ad creative end-to-end: Ship light-edit ads yourself — cut clips, layer captions, add music, export, and launch. Advanced filming and editing will be supported by specialists.

  • Build AI-powered creative workflows: Use AI tools across the creative stack — for voiceovers, ideation, scriptwriting, and generating static and motion creative. Build repeatable workflows that increase creative throughput without sacrificing quality, and stay on the frontier as new tools emerge.

  • Own campaign creative across channels: Primary focus on Meta (Facebook/Instagram). Secondary ownership of Google (YouTube, Search, Demand Gen), X/Twitter, and newsletter ad placements as priorities demand.

Skills and experience

  • Proven copywriting and scriptwriting experience: You can share scripts you've written and explain why they worked.

  • Data fluency: Comfortable analyzing data to make creative decisions.

  • Hands-on production skills: You can go from idea to finished ad without support. Comfort in basic editing softwares.

  • AI-native: You already use AI tools daily to ideate, write, produce, and build workflows.

  • Creative taste: You study ads obsessively and can deconstruct why a hook works or doesn't.

Electrify Culture

  • Dynamic environment - We are dedicated to providing a world-class creative culture where our employees can thrive. We’re looking for self-starters with an entrepreneurial mindset who want to be part of our success story. You’ll discover new opportunities, take ownership of important initiatives and learn at a fast pace.

  • Work anywhere - We are a remote team with employees around the world. This means you are free to work from anywhere with a good internet connection.

  • Our Values – We are committed to fostering a culture that values innovative, diverse ways of thinking and the ability to drive positive change. DEI is in our DNA, and our DEI Committee and Social Hub initiatives reflect this commitment.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
