The Creative Account Manager serves as the strategic front door to the creative team, building strong relationships across the organization and proactively forecasting upcoming creative needs. Reporting to the Manager, Creative Operations, they partner closely with business and marketing teams to identify future work, clarify goals, and ensure the work is strategically aligned, intentionally prioritized, and set up for successful execution.
Working across multiple creative studios, the Creative Account Manager ensures business and marketing objectives are translated clearly into actionable creative assignments with the right context from the start. They bridge strategy, creativity, and execution by setting early direction, keeping partners and studios aligned, and partnering with a Creative Project Manager to collaboratively deliver day-to-day project management so the work moves smoothly and successfully from concept through final delivery.

         

          

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned marketing and business partners, building trusted relationships and aligning creative work to strategic priorities. 

  • Lead proactive planning, forecasting, and prioritization to ensure clarity on creative scope, timing, resource needs, and workload management across studios. 

  • Translate project objectives into clear creative briefs and actionable plans in partnership with marketers, business partners, and creative managers. 

  • Oversee the flow of work across two cross-functional studios, from intake through delivery, ensuring inputs, timelines, and expectations are clearly defined. 

  • Manage creative reviews, feedback cycles, and small-scale in-house productions—including coordination of shoots, rights management, and file organization—to support quality delivery and creative excellence. 

  • Lead post-project retrospectives to evaluate performance, capture learnings, and drive continuous improvement. 

  • Partner closely with a Creative Project Manager to deliver work efficiently through the creative workflow and process, providing mentorship, guidance, and clear delegation. 

  • Proactively manage communication, project status, and risk mitigation while providing strategic consultation to elevate creative output and deliver on business outcomes. 

  • Develop planning, reporting, and forecasting capabilities within the creative team. Develop process improvements that strengthen operational excellence and connect creative work to measurable results.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:   

 Required:   

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, business administration or related experience. 

  • 6–10 years of experience in account management, marketing, or creative operations within an agency or in-house creative team environment. 

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and experience with project management tools (Monday.com preferred or similar). 

  • Experience partnering closely with creative, strategy, and marketing teams to deliver integrated campaigns or programs. 

  • Experience in resource management and capacity planning. 

  • Ability to identify and mitigate project challenges and bottlenecks. 

  • Strong understanding of the creative development process and ability to support it across disciplines. 

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business goals into creative action plans. 

  • Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and quality of creative work. 

Preferred:   

  • Experience within financial services, purpose-driven, or values-based organizations. 

  • Understanding of creative performance metrics.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $89,895.00 - $121,621.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
