This HYBRID position requires being on-site in one of our office locations 3 days per week.

What is the Investment Risk Team responsible for?

The Investment Risk Team's primary function is to provide the second line of defense for Investment Risk.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Counterparty Credit Risk Manager?

The primary function of this position is to lead counterparty credit risk monitoring within the risk group, as well as support other aspects of regulatory risk across FT funds, including global regulatory programs.  You’ll also leverage your technical skills to enhance the team's data analytics capabilities.

  • Lead the strategic vision for the Counterparty Risk team and refine it as business priorities evolve.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand business needs and communicate the team's strategic vision effectively.
  • Facilitate and support periodic counterparty reviews and new approvals.
  • Evaluate market events impacting trading counterparties and decide on necessary actions or escalations.
  • Liaise with other functions, including Operations, Legal and Compliance to ensure full coverage of counterparty and credit risk matters.
  • Represent Investment Risk Management within the Counterparty Credit Committee, providing strategic direction and oversight of counterparty risk management efforts.
  • Work effectively within the Risk team and across other functions to prepare committee materials, discussion items and document outcomes.
  • Prioritize the technology initiatives related to counterparty risk and lead modernization efforts.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for risk information, and perform ad hoc analyses, such as stress tests, sensitivity, or other analysis given various market conditions.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
  • 6 - 10 years relevant work experience REQUIRED in the Mutual Fund or Financial Services industry
  • CFA or FRM designation preferred
  • Experience within a credit risk function will be an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong attention to details and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently, perform mathematical calculations/analysis and to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and to coordinate the work of others
  • Ability to accurately proofread documents and work under pressure, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team environment
What technology skill sets are critical to the success of this role?
  • Experience in SQL experience for data extraction, manipulation, and analyses, including complex joins
  • Experience using financial/risk application/software, Bloomberg, MSCI Barra Risk Model, FactSet, and Morningstar
  • Experience in programming languages, preferably VBA or R/Python, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools

We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $145,000 – 175,000, depending on location and level of relevant experience, plus discretionary bonus.
