  • Work cross functionally with other legal teams to help deliver sound legal advice and solutions to our customer-facing teams.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have at least 2-4 years of legal experience, ideally within the technology, SaaS, or AI sectors.
  • Bring experience either working in-house at a global technology company or advising such companies in private practice.
  • Possess deep knowledge and interest in AI and the legal challenges impacting AI service providers.
  • Have advanced knowledge of privacy and data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global regimes) and their intersection with AI and SaaS operations.

    • Advising business stakeholders on high-stakes, nuanced legal questions
  • Are comfortable managing global legal inquiries and tailoring advice across jurisdictions.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to prioritize and execute high volume tasks effectively.
  • Want to learn quickly and be a quick starter.
  • Build trusted, collaborative relationships with team members and business partners.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively — particularly through email, Slack, and Zoom — translating legal complexity into actionable guidance.
  • Have a solution-oriented, learning mindset with a strong “can-do” attitude and comfort working autonomously.
  • Are fluent in English.
  • Are passionate about and aligned with the values in HubSpot’s Culture Code.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
