The Role:
This GM Cost Engineer position blends cost engineering expertise with strategic business planning, serving as a trusted advisor and first-line support for leaders and executives across the PPCO organization. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of vehicle development and sourcing processes, and a natural ability to build cross-functional relationships.
What You'll Do:
  • Primary support to functional leader in the organization with business planning processes
  • Develop and conduct presentations for all levels of management
  • Support the planning and execution of meetings and cost savings events
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, purchasing, program management, and global teams
  • Utilize strong analytical skills and a passion for innovation to organize, and understand data
  • Perform special studies and analysis to support cost savings or corporate initiatives

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
  • Strong interest in emerging automotive technologies and how they affect cost, safety, and customer experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple organizations within General Motors
  • Project Management skills
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving capability; strong analytical skills
