About the Role
Mango Languages is seeking a Corporate or Senior Corporate Counsel with experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, managing RFP processes, and ensuring compliance with data privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, and FERPA. You’ll play a critical role on a small, agile legal team that enables Mango’s mission to connect people through language and culture.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of inbound and outbound commercial contracts, including master services agreements, SaaS agreements, licensing agreements, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, independent contractor agreements, statements of work, order forms, and purchase orders
- Proofread, fact-check, and quality-assure (QA) contracts and RFP responses to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards
- Manage, draft, and review RFP responses, including bid documentation, contract terms, and compliance requirements
- Maintain and expand knowledge of Mango’s contracting standards, products, and data privacy and security requirements
- Identify and advance legal team projects and initiatives
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve legal processes and create efficient workflows
- Develop, maintain, and improve contract templates, legal playbooks, and internal legal guidance documents
- Deliver contract-related compliance training to Mango employees
- Identify and ensure compliance with data privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and FERPA, and help maintain Mango’s ISO 27001 information security certification
- Collaborate with external legal specialists as needed
- Evening availability outside standard business hours is required to collaborate with C-level executives
Qualifications:
- Law degree and bar certification in good standing in any U.S. state
Required Skills:
- At least 10 years of experience (for Senior level) or equivalent experience for Corporate Counsel level in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
- At least 4 years of experience managing, drafting, and reviewing RFP responses, including bid documentation, contract terms, and compliance requirements
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating Data Privacy Agreements, privacy policies, and regulatory compliance documents. Familiarity with implementing or maintaining data privacy programs (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, FERPA) is preferred
- Experience developing, maintaining, and improving contract templates, legal playbooks, and internal guidance documentation
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with business, compliance, regulatory, and technology teams to deliver practical legal solutions
- Proficient in using a MacBook, Google Workspace (Google Business Suite), and Adobe Acrobat Pro for contract redlining and commenting
Preferred Skills:
- Experience developing and delivering training on legal, compliance, or contract topics
- Certification in data privacy and/or security
