About Onebrief

Onebrief is collaboration and AI-powered workflow software designed specifically for military staffs. By transforming this work, Onebrief makes the staff as a whole superhuman - meaning faster, smarter, and more efficient.

We take ownership, seek excellence, and play to win with the seriousness and camaraderie of an Olympic team. Onebrief operates as an all-remote company, though many of our employees work alongside our customers at military commands around the world.

Founded in 2019 by a group of experienced planners, today, Onebrief’s team spans veterans from all forces and global organizations, and technologists from leading-edge software companies. We’ve raised $123m+ from top-tier investors, including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, Insight Partners, and Human Capital, and today, Onebrief is valued at $1.1B. With this continued growth, Onebrief is able to make an impact where it matters most.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Corporate Counsel, Procurement and Legal Operations to join our legal team. You’ll be Onebrief’s go-to partner for inbound transactions — leading negotiations with vendors, consultants, and service providers while helping shape how we operate as a modern, tech-forward legal function.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role that blends procurement expertise, commercial contracting, and legal operations innovation. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and People to build scalable processes and provide clear, business-focused legal advice.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with teams across Onebrief to structure, draft, review, and negotiate inbound vendor agreements, including software, SaaS, consulting, data privacy, software development, and managed services contracts.

  • Lead the inbound and outbound NDA review process, ensuring appropriate protections while maintaining business velocity.

  • Balance legal risk with business reality by providing pragmatic, market-based guidance that enables smart decision-making under tight timelines.

  • Develop and refine our legal infrastructure, including templates, workflows, and policies for procurement and contracting.

  • Support People Operations on employment-related agreements and communications.

  • Help implement and improve tools for contract lifecycle management, document management, and e-signature.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders at every level of the company, and contribute to other legal workstreams as opportunities arise.

What We Look For
  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

  • 6+ years of legal experience in procurement, technology transactions, and commercial contracting, ideally with a mix of in-house and law firm experience.

  • Experience negotiating inbound technology and services contracts, including SaaS, software licensing, and professional services agreements.

  • Excellent drafting skills with the ability to craft creative, practical solutions in real time.

  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities independently.

  • Responsive, service-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong sense of judgment and integrity.

  • Comfortable shifting between strategic thinking and detailed execution

  • Experience with legal workflow or contract management tools (e.g., e-signature, document management, CLM) is a plus.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
