About Wahed:
The global financial system wasn't built for everyone. For millions of people, its reliance on interest (riba) creates a barrier to managing money and building wealth without compromising their values.

At Wahed, we're changing that. We are a global fintech company on a mission to build a new financial system—one that is ethical, accessible, and entirely interest-free. From our offices across the globe, our team is building products that were once deemed impossible, from pioneering Shariah-compliant equity ETFs, creating true riba-free alternatives to high yield savings accounts, to creating no-leverage real estate investments for truly interest-free income producing assets. If you're driven to solve complex problems and believe finance should empower, not exclude, join us in building a more equitable financial future.

Job Brief:

We are looking for a mid-level Copywriter who lives at the intersection of fintech, SEO, and Islamic finance. This is a fully remote, full-time-equivalent contract role: the work is steady and continuous, and your bandwidth will be fully utilized across blog, web, social, video, and paid media.

Your primary focus will be producing SEO-focused blog articles from pre-built content outlines, but you will also be a key writing partner for Growth, Brand, and Performance Marketing. You will produce work that is on-brand, on-message, and - critically - SEC-compliant, with the ability to turn around revisions quickly when Compliance comes back with feedback.

What You'll Do:

Primary Focus — SEO Blog Content

  • Write SEO-optimized blog articles from pre-built outlines provided by the marketing team, covering topics across investing fundamentals, Halal/Shariah-compliant investing, retirement, market commentary, and product education.

  • Translate keyword research and search intent into clear, engaging long-form content (typically 800–2,500 words) that ranks and converts.

  • Apply on-page SEO best practices — H-tags, meta titles and descriptions, internal linking, alt text, and structured formatting for featured snippets.

  • Maintain a consistent publishing cadence and own multiple drafts in flight, working closely with editors, SEO leads, and Compliance reviewers.

  • Cross-Channel Copy

Beyond the blog, you'll write copy for (but not limited to):

  • Landing pages — product, campaign, and lifecycle pages designed to convert.

  • Social media — captions, snippets, and short-form copy across Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.

  • Carousels and static creative — partnering with designers to write narrative-driven multi-frame posts and single-image creative.

  • Video scripts — short-form (Reels/Shorts/TikTok) and long-form (YouTube, explainers) scripts with clear hooks, beats, and CTAs.

  • Paid ad copy — Meta and Google Ads (search, display, performance max), including headlines, descriptions, and primary text variants for A/B testing.

  • Lifecycle and CRM — occasional support on email subject lines, push notifications, and in-app messaging when needed.

  • Compliance & Brand

  • Partner closely with Compliance and Legal to ensure all marketing content meets SEC, FINRA, and internal disclosure requirements before publication.

  • Turn around compliance revisions quickly — you understand that in a regulated environment, speed and precision in handling redlines is a core competency, not an afterthought.

  • Uphold the Wahed brand voice across every surface, and help refine it as the U.S. business grows.

What You'll Bring:

    Required

  • 3–5 years of professional copywriting experience, with a meaningful portion at a U.S. fintech, wealth, or financial services company (RIA, broker-dealer, neobank, robo-advisor, brokerage, or similar).

  • Hands-on experience writing under SEC / FINRA oversight — you understand what compliant marketing language looks like, what to avoid (performance promises, testimonials misuse, unbalanced claims), and how to revise quickly under a compliance review cycle.

  • Strong working knowledge of Islamic / Shariah-compliant investing in the U.S. context — familiarity with concepts such as riba, gharar, halal screening, sukuk, zakat, AAOIFI standards, and the broader Halal investing landscape.

  • Demonstrated SEO copywriting chops — you have written blog content that has ranked, and you are comfortable working from briefs that include target keywords, search intent, and competitor analysis.

  • Versatility across formats — you can move from a 2,000-word retirement explainer to a 7-word Meta headline without losing voice or quality.

  • Excellent self-management — you thrive in a remote, async environment, manage multiple deliverables in parallel, and communicate clearly about timelines and blockers.

  • Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with SEO tooling such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Surfer, Clearscope, or Google Search Console.

  • Experience writing for retirement products (IRAs, 401(k)s), self-directed brokerage, or robo-advisory products.

  • Direct-response or performance marketing experience with a track record of measurable lift on Meta or Google.

  • Comfort with AI-assisted workflows (e.g., using LLMs as a drafting partner) while maintaining originality and brand voice.

  • Arabic language familiarity or experience writing for Muslim audiences.

  • What Success Looks Like

  • In your first 30 days: you have shipped your first SEO blog articles from outline, written your first round of Meta and Google ad variants, and built a working relationship with Compliance.

  • In your first 90 days: you are operating as the dedicated writer behind the U.S. content engine — consistently publishing on cadence, contributing to landing page and campaign copy, and trusted to turn around compliance revisions quickly and accurately.

  • Ongoing: blog traffic, organic rankings, and paid ad performance reflect the quality and consistency of the copy you produce.

How to Apply:

To apply, please read the below and submit on the link provided:

  • A short note on why this role interests you, with specific reference to your fintech and/or Islamic finance experience.

  • Your portfolio or 3–5 writing samples — ideally including (a) a published SEO blog article, (b) paid ad copy you've written, and (c) any landing page or long-form fintech content.
