About the Role

We’re looking for a flexible, skilled copywriter who can work across multiple brands and adapt quickly to different brand voices. This role supports ongoing SEO retainer work and other marketing initiatives—writing and editing short-form website copy, landing pages, social content, and email campaigns.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can deliver polished, on-brand copy without heavy editorial oversight. You’ll join a small but growing content team and work closely with our SEO specialists to refine and update live site content for multiple clients.

Scope and Duration

Location: Remote (Flexible; preference for overlap with Eastern U.S. business hours)
Hours: 20 hours per month, with potential to increase
Duration: 3 months, potential to expand
Responsibilities
  • Write and edit copy for a variety of brands, ensuring alignment with each client’s unique voice and tone.
  • Support SEO retainers by creating and updating website copy, adding new paragraphs, and refining existing content.
  • Produce marketing-driven copy for landing pages, email campaigns, and social media.
  • Collaborate with the SEO team via Slack to manage quick-turn assignments and maintain workflow visibility.
  • Balance multiple small tasks and short turnaround projects (typically 1–2 weeks).
  • Occasionally participate in developing content calendars or strategy deliverables.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional writing or copywriting experience, preferably in a multi-brand environment.
  • Proven ability to write in varied brand voices and adjust tone across industries.
  • Strong command of grammar, structure, and brand storytelling.
  • Ability to handle light SEO writing (keyword integration, readability, and on-page best practices).
  • Highly organized, dependable, and responsive in remote communication.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal editing needed.
Nice to Have
  • Experience writing for SEO retainers or similar ongoing content optimization work.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Docs, Asana, or Slack.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing and content strategy principles.
  • Ability to occasionally communicate directly with clients about voice or brand direction (not required).

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
