Role Summary (Non-Technical):
This role is for an experienced accounting leader who can bring structure, organization, and clarity to a growing manufacturing business. The person will oversee a small team and ensure that the company’s financial operations run smoothly day to day, while also helping leadership make better business decisions.

They need to be calm, methodical, and able to operate in a fast-moving environment without treating everything like a fire drill. This person will not just “report the numbers,” but actively work with operations and leadership to improve performance, control costs, and impact results in real time.

A big part of the role is understanding how money flows through the business—especially inventory and cost tracking—and making sure systems and processes are accurate, efficient, and scalable. They will identify problems, find root causes, and work cross-functionally (including with IT) to fix and improve processes.

This person must be hands-on, able to work independently, and also lead and mentor a team of about 7 people. Strong communication and people leadership skills are critical, as they will collaborate closely with other department leaders.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
