This is a full-time position based in our Boston office, with a requirement to work onsite at least three (3) days per week as part of our hybrid work model.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on accounting responsibilities. As the Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and providing insights that drive sound business decisions. You will oversee a lean accounting team and play a pivotal role in strengthening financial processes as our company continues to grow. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to support operational needs.
Oversee external audits, tax filings, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage annual corporate insurance policy renewals to ensure appropriate levels of coverage.
Partner with leadership on annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic planning.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
Supervise, mentor, and develop a small but growing accounting team.
Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
6–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
2–3 years of accounting/finance leadership experience with direct accountability for team performance and strategic execution.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience in a mid-size or growth-oriented company, with hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting.
Experience in external audits, tax filings, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage).
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and balance multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
Industry experience in SaaS.
Prior experience managing system implementations, upgrades, or automation projects.

The annual salary range for this position is $140,000-$160,000 with bonus eligibility of $30,000 USD.
