Build the future of offensive security with XBOW. Attackers are already using AI to move faster than defenders can react—we’re creating the platform that puts security ahead in the arms race. Our AI-powered system autonomously discovers, validates, and even exploits vulnerabilities, giving organizations proof-backed results in hours instead of weeks.
Founded by Oege de Moor, creator of GitHub Copilot, and backed by Sequoia, Altimeter, and other leading investors, XBOW is applying cutting-edge AI to one of the world’s most urgent problems. In just over a year, our AI, built by a world-class AI team and legendary security researchers — has uncovered thousands of real-world zero-days across the software billions rely on, and achieved the #1 ranking on HackerOne’s global leaderboard.
We’re a team of builders, hackers, and researchers who thrive on solving problems others think are impossible. If you want to push the boundaries of AI, reshape how security is done, and join the group defining this new era of defense — we’d love to talk.
We’re looking for a Controller to build and scale XBOW’s accounting, tax, and financial operations from the ground up. In this role, you’ll take ownership of core accounting processes, revenue recognition, multi-jurisdictional compliance, and financial reporting that guides critical strategic decisions. You’ll work closely with our Head of Finance, People, Legal, and cross-functional teams to establish best-in-class systems, controls, and workflows that support XBOW’s rapid growth.
This role is for someone who enjoys turning ambiguity into structure, leading both execution and strategy, and building financial foundations that can scale globally.
Oversee monthly close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in partnership with external accountants.
Develop and enforce GAAP-compliant accounting policies and procedures.
Manage AP, AR, and collections processes with third-party providers.

Establish internal controls and documentation in preparation for the company’s first GAAP audit.
Manage statutory audits and local compliance requirements as needed.
Assist in entity management/compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Support the Head of Finance in maintaining forecast and budget models that guide strategic decisions.

Drive process automation and documentation to scale operations efficiently.
Implement sales tax compliance software and oversee collection processes and filings.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Finance to align the full quote-to-cash cycle
Essential:
Have previously built accounting systems and processes from 0-1 at a high-growth start-up (or equivalent experience scaling financial operations through hypergrowth periods). Experience setting up processes on Quickbooks, Brex, and Fathom.
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create structured workflows in complex and evolving contexts. Keen attention to detail.
Player-coach - as comfortable as an individual contributor as you are building out and managing a team, working cross-functionally and managing vendors.
Experience managing several entities, and tax/compliance reporting in multiple jurisdictions.
Strong desire to build automated and highly scalable processes to support rapid growth.
Deep expertise in GAAP, ASC 606, and related standards.
Advantageous:
Experience in security, deep-tech, or enterprise software environments.
Prior experience navigating first-time audits, GAAP conversions, or rapid international expansion.
Experience implementing billing, revenue recognition, or tax automation systems.
Startup experience and comfort with ambiguity, urgency, and rapid iteration.
