Role Summary
The Contracts Manager helps drive Fusable’s commercial momentum by managing and negotiating customer, partner, and vendor agreements in a fast‑pace data analytics SaaS environment. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Counsel, this role works side‑by‑side with internal business owners, Sales, Finance, Security, and Product to get deals done quickly and thoughtfully —balancing speed, smart risk management, and scalable contract terms.
As part of the Legal team, the Contracts Manager (reporting to the Director, Commercial Counsel), supports the Legal team in executing and refining contracting processes as the company scales. The Contracts Manager manages day‑to‑day contracting, spots risks early in the deal cycle, and escalates complex and non-standard issues when needed. The Legal team operates as a true business partner—focused on practical guidance, clear decision‑making, and responsive support—helping the company move fast, protect what matters, and grow responsibly while maintaining strong legal and ethical standards.
The Contracts Manager operates with support from Commercial Counsel on complex, high‑risk, or novel issues. Success in this role comes from sound judgment, clear communication, and knowing when to escalate. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Contract Review & Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of agreements, including:
- Master Subscription Agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Enterprise and mid-market Customer Agreements
- Data processing agreements
- Partner agreements
- Vendor agreements
- Support Sales and Customer Success during deal cycles, balancing speed with risk management.
- Identify and escalate non-standard terms and legal risks as appropriate.
Process Improvement & Enablement
- Help develop and maintain contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks.
- Improve contracting workflows to support scalability and deal velocity.
- Provide training and guidance to Sales and internal stakeholders on contracting standards and best practices. Partner with cross-functional departments to align contract terms with business objectives.
- Track contract adherence
Compliance and Risk Management
- Support business filings, licenses, insurance renewals, and intellectual property processes.
- Identify potential legal, privacy, and security issues in contracts and partner with Commercial Counsel or other internal experts to address them.
Experience
Required:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in contracts management, contracts administration, or commercial legal support
- Experience negotiating customer and vendor agreements
- Experience supporting commercial contracts in SaaS, technology, or other complex B2B environments
- Familiarity with data protection, privacy, and information security concepts
- Proficiency with technology and systems, including SaaS platforms and collaboration software
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and regulatory requirements
- Impactful and persuasive in negotiation
- High attention to detail
- Proficient with CLM systems and general business software
- Ethical judgement and decision making
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Process oriented with a growth mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in law, business administration, finance, or accounting; paralegal certification; contract management certification; or equivalent practical experience and education
- Understanding of SaaS business models (subscription, usage-based pricing, renewals)
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and customer relationship management (CRM) software such as Salesforce
- Exposure to enterprise-level contracting
- Experience supporting high-growth environments
- Eastern or central time zone
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Majority of work conducted in an office environment using standard office equipment
- Work utilizes fine motor skills to type and ability to view and see details on the screen
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at desk while working on a computer
- Ability to travel to clients or for internal meetings, as necessary
