About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

How We Operate
  • Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.

  • Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

The Legal Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

  • Build the legal and compliance function from zero, for the largest compute buildout in history. No inherited playbook, no legacy team. The systems, standards, and function we build are the ones a company deploying gigawatts will run on for the next decade.

  • Make legal a source of speed. We structure and close complex deals in weeks that typically take quarters. That only works when we calibrate risk from first principles of what our business needs. Our job is judgment, applied fast enough that legal helps drive the deal across the finish line.

  • Cover the entire legal surface with a lean team. A small team owns everything, and much of it involves business structures the market hasn’t seen before. You invent the solution with our business team.

Role Scope
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements behind Fluidstack’s data center buildout.

  • Build scalable contracting and compliance frameworks that let a lean legal team keep pace with the business.

  • Partner with legal, finance, and business teams to drive agreements from request to signature.

  • Run multiple contract workstreams in parallel under tight deadlines, keeping quality high while moving fast.

  • Take contracting projects end to end without waiting to be asked, spotting problems and fixing them as you go.

What We're Looking For
  • You’ve drafted and negotiated terms across a broad range of standard commercial contracts, and you can carry a negotiation on your own.

  • You read and interpret complex contractual language quickly and accurately, and can explain what a clause means and why it matters.

  • You use AI for legal research, contract analysis, or document review as part of how you work.

  • You’ve run multiple projects at once under tight deadlines and delivered thoughtful, high-quality work anyway.

  • You write and speak clearly enough to turn dense contract terms into a decision and a next step for a business owner.

  • Bonus: Experience with data centers and related infrastructure. Negotiating inbound technology licensing and procurement contracts. Implementing scalable contracting and compliance frameworks.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
