WHAT IS YOUR ROLE

As a Contracts and Commercials Specialist you will own both the execution and optimization of our client contracting process. You’ll be both client-facing and internally strategic, handling redlines, fielding client legal inquiries, and managing the contract lifecycle from first draft to renewal. This role bridges legal, finance, and delivery, and ensures we operate with legal discipline, client clarity, and internal alignment.

You will be responsible for developing scalable legal processes, translating complex legal language into business-friendly terms, and owning the infrastructure that supports our legal governance framework.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Draft, negotiate, and redline MSAs, SLAs, SOWs, Order Forms, and amendments.
  • Serve as a primary legal point of contact for clients during contract negotiations and escalations.
  • Manage and improve contract workflows, approval paths, internal playbooks, and escalation frameworks.
  • Own contract lifecycle governance: template control, compliance alignment (ISO, SOC 2, PCI), version control and renewal tracking.
  • Design, implement and manage contract systems that support scale including standard order forms and templates, modular SLAs, and contract tooling).
  • Own and maintain contract metadata, naming conventions, trackers, and document storage.
  • Ensure terms align with pricing models, staffing structures, and service-level expectations.
  • Build and maintain SOPs for contract workflows, escalation paths, and legal coordination, and drive consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Apply sound judgment in escalating legal issues, knowing when to engage General Counsel or external legal resources.
  • Partner with RevOps, Finance, and CX to align on legal risk, commercial goals, and margin impact.

YOU HAVE…

  • 4–6+ years in Legal Ops, Contracts, or Legal/RevOps hybrid roles
  • Hands-on redlining and commercial contract negotiation experience
  • Strong client communication skills and ability to translate legal language into plain English for internal teams and clients. 
  • Familiarity with service-based business models and global outsourcing contracts
  • Financial awareness; understands how legal terms affect revenue, cost, and risk
  • Strong attention to detail: especially when reviewing, drafting, and redlining legal terms
  • Strong Business Acumen: Understands how legal terms impact pricing, invoicing, risk, and delivery.
  • Experience managing version control, audit trails, and compliance documentation (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI)
  • Experience improving or building internal contract workflows, approval paths, and escalation frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based applications (Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs) and MS Office applications
  • Proactive, organized, and able to prioritize competing deadlines across stakeholders
  • Experience supporting procurement processes and vendor contracting (nice to have)
