This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands. To give a taste of our brand's popularity, more than 100 billion YouTube views of Poppy Playtime related content have occurred since the game's launch 4 years ago.
Mob Entertainment is the indie studio behind the hit animated horror franchise Poppy Playtime, known for its dark, creature-driven storytelling and visually immersive world-building. As we expand into animated content and cinematic experiences, we're looking for skilled storytellers to help bring our vision to the screen.
The RoleWe're seeking a talented Contract Storyboard Artist to support pre-production on animated and cinematic projects. You'll translate scripts and creative briefs into compelling visual sequences, working closely with directors and the art team to establish pacing, camera language, and emotional beats that feel true to the Mob Entertainment aesthetic.
Responsibilities- Produce clear, expressive storyboards from scripts, animatics, and verbal direction
- Communicate camera angles, character staging, action, and transitions with confidence
- Collaborate with the director and narrative team to develop sequence flow and storytelling rhythm
- Revise boards quickly and efficiently based on creative feedback
- Deliver clean, organized panel packages in agreed-upon formats and on schedule
- Maintain visual consistency with established character designs and environments
- Portfolio demonstrating strong storyboarding work for animation, games, or film
- Solid grasp of cinematic principles — shot composition, staging, continuity, and pacing
- Ability to draw characters expressively and on-model across a sequence
- Comfortable working from written scripts as well as loose verbal direction
- Reliable communicator who can hit deadlines in a remote, async environment
- Proficiency in digital tools such as Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, or equivalent
- Familiarity with horror, suspense, or action-driven visual storytelling
- Experience boarding for animated series or game cinematics
- Ability to produce rough animatics or add basic timing to boards
- Knowledge of Mob Entertainment's existing properties and tone
- Project-based engagement with potential for ongoing work
- Remote — work from anywhere
- Flexible schedule with agreed-upon milestone deadlines
