Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a GM/Publisher for PetMD in Dania Beach, Florida. PetMD, with more than 4M unique visitors per month, is one of the most popular sites in the digital space for vet-written and reviewed consumer information about pet care and pet health. Owned by Chewy, the site has experienced exponential growth over the last two years and with new programs soon to launch is poised to increase its reach, attract a wider audience, and drive revenue for Chewy. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic leader to own the editorial and commercial success of PetMD’s editorial content and consumer-facing services.
We are looking for someone with a combination of business sense, creativity, communication skills and strong editorial credentials who can articulate a vision for full funnel experiences and ability to operationalize it across marketing vehicles with a customer first mindset to grow and scale this site into a powerhouse product. Reporting into the VP Marketing, you will work closely with Chewy’s healthcare business unit, PetMD’s product manager, SEO and consumer insights, and other relevant teams to help reimagine the site experience and offerings, and evangelize for the PetMD brand inside and outside the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Establish PetMD as the trusted authority in pet health content for pet parents, vets and other audiences / partners in the health content space
- Lead the strategic direction to develop and execute a content strategy, build communities, distribution channels and media partnerships
- Provide an analytical perspective on channel performance with KPI framework and engagement metrics that are appropriate to the channels and our goals
- Develop the roadmap for content that aligns against evergreen, brand campaigns, and
- integrated marketing initiatives
- Develop the operating model to create premium long and short form content that consistently speaks in the Chewy voice while delivering at scale and efficiently
- Develop framework to build audience, readership and raise the overall profile of the site
- Evaluate and implement SEO best practices to ensure content is discoverable and relevant to audiences
- Continually optimize engagements against metrics, provide the right levels of reporting across stakeholders.

What You’ll Need:
- Experience with creating, launching and/or revamping content to engage new audiences
- Proven track record delivering content for consumer lifestyle and emotive brands
- Retail/ecommerce or healthcare content experience
- Experience directing content experiences for a variety of digital marketing channels
- Exceptional writing and/or editor skills in your own right
- Experience handling budgets and formulating resourcing plans
- Ability to be data guided and insights driven
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Natural collaborator comfortable organizing and navigating across groups
- Hands-on style with a strong bias for action and results, while working effectively in an innovative environment that values collaboration without ego
- High bar for creative excellence and operates at a high level of intensity, acting with a sense of urgency without sacrificing quality
- Use data and analytics to continually measure the impact of content and optimize content marketing programs across all channels
- Be customer-obsessed and anticipate what they want to know and how to best deliver the message so that they are inclined to take the next action
- Manage a small team of content strategists and collaborate across marketing, sales, and other departments on key initiatives
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with collaborators in brand, marketing, creative services, product management, SEO, merchandising and other related functions
