Junior Copywriter
We’re looking for…
The Jr. Copywriter for Social Media Content is charged with bringing our brands to life through content, storytelling, and community management. This position will support social media efforts and our content platform to engage our Members and enrich the shopping experience. Meaning? You’ll help manage our social and editorial calendars, post to our social platforms, pitch story concepts, and write short-form and long-form content that follows digital publishing best practices.
What you’ll accomplish…
- Help concept content and write copy for social media initiatives (Instagram, Twitter, and
Facebook). - Apply the best practices learned through analytics and current social media marketing
trends to engage followers. - Keep a strong pulse on pop culture, current events, and the fashion industry.
- Effectively collaborate with design on all projects.
- Plot the social and editorial calendars, and schedule all programmed content.
- Innovate new ways to engage our audience on both social media and our content
platform.
- Support marketing sweeps, promotions, and PR initiatives on social media channels.
- Work with the Customer Service team to ensure appropriate messaging in sensitive
situations. - Project a positive, can-do attitude across every initiative you touch.
- Faithfully maintain the Rue La La and Gilt voice standards.

THE RIGHT FIT:
You have…
- A strong understanding of social media marketing and the importance of branded content
- Foundational training to understand the basics of writing and grammar and to quickly
grasp what makes one brand’s voice different from another - Desire to learn new things and a passion for style, fashion, design, retail, and ecommerce.
- 1–2+ years of relevant work experience
- BA/BS in communications, journalism, marketing, or a similar field
- Ability to write copy that is both succinct and brings our brand personalities to life
- Strong self-motivation and drive to succeed
- Top-notch collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, complete last-minute requests, and make
quick turnarounds - Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); comfortable with tools in an online
environment - Cover letter and portfolio required

The Social Media/Content team is a branch of the Creative team. We support our Members' shopping experience by providing branded social media content across all social platforms for both Rue La La and Gilt as well as storytelling on our content platform, Rue Now. We keep a pulse on what’s happening in the style world and share it with our followers. We also concept and execute one-off content and campaigns to engage and inspire our Members.
