Jr. Copyeditor
THE ROLE:
We’re looking for…
The Jr. Copyeditor is charged with copyediting, proofreading, and executing the brand standards of Rue La La. You’ll be part of a team that moves fast, working with Rue writers across our Boutiques, Rue Now, and Marketing platforms in a collaborative environment. The right candidate will be highly detail-oriented, have excellent time-management skills, and enjoy working on a variety of projects.
What you’ll accomplish…
- Copyedit and proofread a variety of items, from marketing campaigns to daily Boutique copy to design assets, to create error-free copy that expresses the Rue Voice.
- Ensure all copy adheres to editorial standards and house style guide.
- With the Senior Copyeditor, partner with writers and other teams to maintain and update copy guidelines to meet current trends and the company’s business needs.
- Contribute ideas to Creative and cross-functional brainstorms.
- Collaborate with Brand Operations team to improve daily processes and maximize efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team, including Designers, Art Directors, Editorial, Marketing, and Brand Operations.
- Receive and enthusiastically address constructive feedback from the Creative leaders.
- Uphold Rue voice in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
- Shift priorities to meet deadlines based on changing calendars.

THE RIGHT FIT:
You have…
- 1 – 2 years of experience with copyediting.
- Expert-level knowledge of the English language, and the ins and outs of punctuation, syntax, and idioms.
- Demonstrated ability to think (and write) on your feet and to work with copywriters to tweak copy as needed.
- Excellent collaboration, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under tight and shifting deadlines.
- Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Docs; comfortable with content management systems
- BA/BS in English, literature, communications, journalism, or a similar field.
- Cover letter required.

- Experience in fashion, lifestyle, or home industries.
- Experience working with design assets.
