Job Description:

Penn Mutual is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative Content Marketing Specialist to join the Sales Strategies Marketing team.

In this role, you will partner with subject matter experts across the organization to develop compelling content that supports financial professionals and advances key business initiatives. From concept development and content creation to amplification across multiple channels, you will play a critical role in bringing complex ideas to life through engaging, audience-focused content.

The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, naturally curious, and eager to learn. They are not afraid to ask thoughtful questions, bring forward fresh ideas, and apply emerging marketing trends, tools, and best practices to strengthen content effectiveness. While experience in financial services is a plus, we are willing to invest in teaching the right candidate about our industry and business. In return, we're looking for someone who brings initiative, creativity, a growth mindset, and a genuine passion for continuous learning.

This role is ideal for a content marketer who enjoys collaborating with experts, translating complex topics into compelling narratives, and finding innovative ways to extend the value and reach of content across channels.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Strategic Storytelling (70%)

  • Develop, edit, and optimize content designed to educate, engage, and support financial professionals.
  • Partner closely with subject matter experts across Advanced Sales, Product, Distribution, Service, and other business areas to uncover insights and translate complex topics into clear, compelling, and audience-focused content.
  • Serve as the primary content owner for assigned initiatives, driving projects from concept development through publication and distribution.
  • Create and own creative briefs that clearly define content objectives, target audiences, key messaging, content formats, and deliverables.
  • Develop thought leadership content, educational resources, sales enablement materials, articles, presentations, newsletters, web content, and campaign assets.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize the value and reach of content by transforming core assets into multiple formats, including social media posts, infographics, videos, email campaigns, webinars, and other digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Creative Services, Digital Marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure content aligns with brand standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
  • Evaluate content performance and recommend opportunities to improve engagement, effectiveness, and audience reach.
  • Continuously explore emerging content marketing trends, audience engagement strategies, AI-enabled content tools, and industry best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance Penn Mutual's content approach and audience experience.
  • Proactively bring recommendations, new ideas, and creative solutions to the team, supported by industry research, market trends, and evolving marketing practices.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative by asking thoughtful questions, seeking to understand business priorities, and uncovering opportunities to strengthen content impact.

Campaign Support & Team Operations (30%)

  • Partner closely with the Director of Sales Strategies Marketing to support the planning and execution of quarterly marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate content reviews, stakeholder feedback cycles, approvals, and publication timelines.
  • Organize and facilitate campaign working sessions, content development meetings, and cross-functional collaboration discussions.
  • Partner closely with the team's project manager to support project workflows, timelines, documentation, and stakeholder communications within Asana.
  • Contribute to project planning and coordination efforts by helping track deliverables, prepare meeting materials, facilitate follow-ups, and maintain visibility into content priorities and key milestones.
  • Support alignment across stakeholders and teams to help ensure content initiatives progress smoothly and efficiently.
  • Assist with meeting coordination, agenda development, note-taking, action-item tracking, and project organization for key marketing initiatives and campaign activities.
  • Support team operational needs and communications to help drive effective collaboration across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in content marketing, content strategy, editorial, communications, or a related marketing role.
  • Proven experience partnering with subject matter experts to develop content for professional audiences.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex or technical concepts into engaging, audience-focused content.
  • Experience owning multiple content initiatives simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms and workflows, preferably Asana.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning, with a passion for staying current on evolving content, digital marketing, and audience engagement strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience developing content for financial professionals, financial services, insurance, wealth management, or other regulated industries.
  • Understanding of B2B content marketing and sales enablement strategies.
  • Experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns across digital, email, social, and content channels.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content development tools and emerging digital marketing technologies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
