We are working on a hybrid schedule, 3 days in the office, 2 at home.
As the Content Strategy Manager for Product Marketing at Cognex, you will be the critical link between our innovative machine vision technology and our prospective customers at the bottom of the sales funnel. You will be responsible for creating high-impact, decision-enabling content that addresses final objections, demonstrates clear value propositions, and accelerates the sales cycle for our industrial B2B solutions. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical acumen, compelling storytelling, and a deep understanding of the B2B buyer’s journey in the industrial automation space.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of bottom-of-funnel (BOFU) marketing and sales enablement materials.
Technical Documents: Create and update detailed datasheets, spec sheets, solution briefs, and competitive battlecards that translate complex technical functionality into clear, customer-centric benefits.
Multimedia Assets: Plan, script, and manage the production of product videos, application demos, and customer testimonials/case studies that build trust and showcase quantifiable results.
Webinars & Presentations: Develop content for and host product-focused webinars for qualified prospects, and create modular sales presentation decks.
Messaging & Positioning: Collaborate with the broader Product Management teams to refine product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target B2B buyer personas at the decision stage.
Market & Competitive Intelligence: Gather competitive intelligence and market trends to inform and differentiate our product messaging, packaging these insights into actionable information for the sales team.
Performance Analysis: Track content usage and performance metrics (e.g., win rates, influenced pipeline, content engagement) to assess effectiveness and continuously optimize materials based on data-driven insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the subject matter expert, fostering alignment and communication between Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in product marketing or technical content development, preferably within a B2B technology or industrial automation environment.
Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, compelling narratives that resonate with a technical audience and drive purchasing decisions.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an acute attention to detail and a portfolio of relevant work (datasheets, case studies, videos, etc.).
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Cognex believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 177,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a sales incentive plan.
