Department OverviewThe Content Developer crafts high-quality, comprehensive documentation by interpreting complex technical data into clear, concise written content. This content empowers technical personnel and end-users with varying degrees of knowledge to effectively use our products.
The Content Developer creates and maintains high-quality, comprehensive documentation that translates complex technical data into clear, user-friendly content. The range of documentation includes quick start guides, user guides, service manuals, and online help.
The role requires collaboration with internal and external teams - from project managers to engineering subject matter experts - to plan and develop assigned content. Researching and interviewing skills, coupled with a curious mind, are a plus.
Job Description

• Collaborate with project managers and information architects to ensure content aligns with project deadlines and strategic goals.

• Attend scrum ceremonies and meetings to stay updated on product features, report on progress, and address issues.

• Translate complex technical data into clear, user-friendly content by interviewing engineers and researching product features.

• Develop content using desktop publishing tools (oXygen, Heretto, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro), along with AI-powered tools for content generation and optimization

• Ensure all content adheres to Motorola Solutions writing standards and branding guidelines for graphics.

• Coordinate with peers, technical reviewers, and translation teams to deliver high-quality, localized documentation.

Basic Requirements

• Candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/relevant field

• Willingness to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang

• Fresh graduates are encourage to apply

• Exceptional Communication: Strong command of the English language, both oral and written, with the ability to write to highly technical and specialized audiences.

• Technical Aptitude: Demonstrate skill in making complex data into clear, accessible content for users with varying knowledge backgrounds.

• Organizational Prowess: Excellent ability to organize ideas and concepts to create concise and well-structured documentation.

• Style Guide Experience:  A strong understanding of the importance of consistent writing standards and the ability to quickly adapt to our in-house style guide.

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) for Documentation: A strong interest in and willingness to learn about AI/ML tools for tasks such as content automation, generation, and search optimization.

• Agile & JIRA Experience: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and an eagerness to learn collaboration software like JIRA.

• (Preferred) Tool Proficiency: Experience in markup languages (such as HTML, XML, DITA), scripting languages (Python, JavaScript), or structured authoring tools (oXygenXML, Heretto, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro).
