About the role

We’re looking for a Content Designer to help define what “great” looks like in a Beautiful.ai presentation. In this role, you’ll build sample decks for inspiration and create educational content that makes it easier for users to succeed.

To do this well, you need more than just a good eye. You’ll also need a solid understanding of how business professionals communicate. Maybe you’ve built decks yourself. Maybe you’ve supported teams that live in PowerPoint. Either way, you get what goes into a high-stakes presentation—and that instinct helps you design slides and content that just make sense.

You’ll work closely with product, marketing, and customer success, and report to the Head of Product and Growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and maintain slide templates that give users better starting points for common business use cases.
  • Build full example decks for our inspiration gallery to showcase best practices in layout and storytelling.
  • Create short video tutorials and walkthroughs to support onboarding, education, and product adoption.
  • Write helpful, concise UX copy to guide users through product workflows and Smart Slide logic.
  • Offer practical input on template and slide behavior based on real-world business needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Customer Success to ensure consistency across templates, messaging, and product experience.

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years of experience in content design or presentation design.
  • A portfolio that reflects strong layout, hierarchy, and storytelling across slides.
  • Familiarity with common business communication formats (sales decks, board updates, plans, etc.).
  • Experience designing and producing multimedia educational content (e.g., tutorials, walkthroughs, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Figma
  • Clear, thoughtful writing style—especially in UX or instructional content.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-moving, iterative environment.
  • US hours preferred.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in productivity or SaaS tools.
  • Background in consulting, marketing, or other roles where high-quality slides are standard.

Benefits:

  • Flexible Time-Off & Remote Work
  • Health Insurance – 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for employees; 60–65% coverage for dependents.
  • Retirement Plan – Comprehensive 401(k) program.
  • Savings Accounts – Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) options available.
  • Equity Compensation – Competitive equity package with a 4-year vesting schedule.
  • Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance – Coverage provided where applicable.
  • Parental Leave – Inclusive leave for birthing and non-birthing parents; policies vary by state.
  • Volunteer Time Off (VTO) – Paid day off to support a nonprofit or community cause.

We are happy to share the set target salary range for the seniority level outlined in all of our job descriptions. Candidates should keep in mind that the final offer will depend on multiple factors such as: your valuable experience and expertise, geographic location, overall compensation, and prevailing market rates.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
