Content Specialist

Location: Cambridge, MA (Kendall Square). Hybrid schedule with 4 days a week in the office.
Company Overview

Datalign Advisory is a cutting-edge platform that provides AI-driven, data-centric financial advisory services, connecting users with expert advisors to optimize financial decision-making. Our goal is to revolutionize the financial advisory landscape by offering personalized, scalable solutions through advanced technology and data analytics. In 2022, we launched from Cambridge's innovation hub with Link Ventures as our lead investor. Today, we've connected over $80 billion in potential client assets with 13,000+ trusted advisors.
Job Summary

We're looking for a Content Specialist who's equal parts writer, producer, and creative thinker. You'll create content that helps financial advisors grow their businesses and helps everyday people feel more confident about their money. You'll work on crafting messages that matter, the right content to create around that message, and then using the right channels to communicate it.

This is a hands-on, creative role. You'll be stepping into an established content strategy with defined workflows, a content calendar, and brand guidelines — your job is to run with it, evolve it, and make it yours. You'll work alongside leadership and a supportive cross-functional team to bring Datalign's brand to life across blogs, social media, podcasts, video, and more. If you're a strong writer who's also comfortable creating and editing video content — or vice versa — we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Strategy: Create and manage content across our blog, social media, and website — maintaining a consistent brand voice built on existing style blogs and messaging frameworks. Develop multiple weekly SEO/GEO-optimized articles using our established content calendar and build on existing workflows where a single piece of content generates derivative assets across multiple channels.

Podcast & Video Production: Take ownership of our podcast, "Perfectly Aligned" — producing episodes end-to-end including preparing conversation outlines with pre-built templates, episode topics, recording, editing, and cutting promotional clips through AI-powered apps. You’ll go through a training day for using our podcast room, and then shoot and edit live video content. This content should be broken down for social media, including promotional clips, news updates, and series you design.

Social Media Management: Own Datalign's social media presence across LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Create platform-native content for our different audiences on each platform, manage posting cadence, and track engagement to continuously improve what's working.

Executive & Thought Leadership Content: Help team members develop their existing voices as thought leaders, building on established themes and positioning. Draft LinkedIn posts, videos, and talking points for company leaders across topics like financial advisor growth, AI in finance, and wealth management trends.

Brand & Website Copy: Work closely with our design team in maintaining and updating website copy as well as brand messaging documents, and boilerplate language. Support company announcements, help write press releases when needed, and build award submissions as needed.

Performance Tracking: Contribute to a monthly content dashboard covering engagement, SEO/traffic, AI visibility, and lead capture — using data to inform what we create next.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or a similar role.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to shift between formats — blog posts, social copy, scripts, long-form articles.
  • Hands-on experience with video production and editing (comfortable shooting, cutting, and publishing short and long-form content).
  • Experience with podcasts or audio/video production.
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and content optimization.
  • Experience managing social media channels with an understanding of what works on each platform.
  • Ability to translate complex topics (AI, financial planning, technology) into clear, engaging content for broad audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Tools we currently use and you should be comfortable with:
    CapCut or Adobe Premiere Pro
RAG Creation and usage with Claude, Chat GPT, or other LLMs
    Google/Microsoft Office (Excel, Docs, PPT)
    AI Video Creation/Generation
Google Search Console & Google Analytics
    Social Platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or B2B SaaS.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and the ability to communicate them and their impact to distinct audiences.
  • Knowledge of the RIA/wealth management landscape.
  • Previous experience working in a high-growth, dynamic startup environment.
  • Excitement to make an impact in consumer finance.
What We Offer
  • A dynamic, team-centric and supportive environment in the heart of Kendall Square where your work has a direct impact on enhancing financial advisory services.
  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, and retirement savings plan
  • Commuting is on us and we will pay for your monthly parking, T Pass or commuter rail pass. We also offer a corporate Bluebike membership.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development within a rapidly growing company.
  • Weekly lunches catered to the office.
  • Fully stocked kitchen covering all of coffee, tea and snack needs.

Additional Information
  • We are only accepting applications from candidates in the Greater Boston area, as this is a hybrid role with 3-4 days a week in office.
  • The level of this position can be adjusted based on the candidate's experience.

Datalign Advisory is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse, inclusive team.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
