Welcome to Apothékary, where Japanese Wellness meets Modern times. We believe wellness is a journey guided by tradition and ritual, then further advanced by science. Our mission is to nurture holistic health through potent natural solutions crafted with respect, precision, and purpose. We aim to make authentic Japanese traditions accessible, supporting your daily rituals and helping you live with balance, vitality, and intention.
We were founded in early 2019 by Shizu Okusa, a serial entrepreneur in the wellness industry and named E&Y’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2021 and awarded the prestigious Inc. 500 Female Founder Honoree award. After leaving an intense finance career, she became inspired to live a more balanced lifestyle and revisit her Japanese roots and passion for herbal medicine. Shizu set out to help others regain their holistic health using traditions she grew up with and ones she learned along the way.
The role:Apothékary is looking for a strategic and self-motivated Content & Community Coordinator to join our growing team! Reporting directly to our Social Media Manager you will play an integral part in translating our "Nature is Medicine" philosophy into a vibrant, digital-first lifestyle.
You won't just be posting to a feed; you’ll be the voice and face that bridges the gap between our herbal formulas and the daily rituals of our community. We’re looking for a storyteller who can’t help but document the world around them and a connector who genuinely enjoys talking to people. You’ll be the face of our brand in the DMs and the creative engine behind our most viral (and high-converting) content.
Responsibilities: 1. Content Creation (Paid & Organic)- Concept, film, and edit high-energy content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) that feels native to the platform (roughly 2 videos per day, dependent on a new launch or promo).
- Capture and edit aesthetic photo and video assets specifically for our email newsletters - bringing our herbal rituals to life in our customers' inboxes through GIFs and lifestyle imagery.
- Capture behind-the-scenes moments, events, and day-to-day operations to keep our brand feeling human and transparent.
- Maintain an organized library of b-roll, product footage, and community UGC so our social team always has a bank of "evergreen" content to pull from.
- Partner with the growth team to produce "UGC-style" ads that stop the scroll and drive conversions.
- Identify top-performing organic posts and "remixing" them into high-converting ad formats for our Growth team, ensuring a seamless bridge between organic storytelling and paid performance.
- Brainstorm fresh post ideas and write punchy, brand-aligned copywriting for social captions, ensuring the brand voice is consistent and engaging.
- Own our Instagram Broadcast Channel. This is our "inner circle" - you’ll be responsible for keeping it active with exclusive polls, voice notes, and early-access drops.
- Transition followers from "passive observers" to "active participants" by fostering two-way conversations.
- Moderate comments, answer DMs with personality (no "corporate-speak" here), and identify brand advocates who we should be rewarding.
- Work with Social Media Manager to support the social media calendar, scheduling and publishing content across all social platforms.
- Support Social Team with weekly reporting.
- Execute strategies to grow our community footprint through partnerships, challenges, and outreach.
- Work closely with our Social Media Manager and Influencer Specialist to come up with ways to foster a loyal and engaged community.
- Act as the "eyes and ears" of the company, reporting back on what the community loves, hates, or is asking for next.
- Taking the lead on proactive community outreach, commenting on tagged posts, DMs, engaging with customer stories, and fostering loyalty
