The Role

The Content Associate is a critical member of SmartBear’s Corporate Marketing team, supporting the coordination, organization, and execution of content initiatives across the Marketing department to ensure alignment with campaign priorities and resonance with target audiences.

This role is 70% project management and 30% writing, ensuring that the editorial calendar stays organized, deadlines are met, and stakeholders across product marketing, growth marketing, brand, and web are aligned.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate the companywide content calendar and ensure cross-functional alignment among Product Marketing, Growth, Brand, and Web teams.
  • Enforce content governance and quality standards across teams to maintain clarity, consistency, customer relevance, and discoverability.
  • Develop and edit high-impact content such as thought leadership blogs, campaign copy, and internal communications.
  • Co-lead Writer.ai enablement across Marketing: training, onboarding, and workflow integration to ensure broad and effective adoption.
  • Track content performance and share insights to optimize future planning and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
  • Serve as the central hub for content organization and improve workflows and efficiency across teams by proactively managing priorities and deadlines, driving smoother execution and measurable impact.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Marketing team members on managing SmartBear’s social media presence.

Skills and Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in content coordination or project management, preferably for enterprise software/SaaS organizations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Experience collaborating across functions and balancing stakeholder needs.
  • Ability to write and edit clear, brand-aligned content, particularly about technical topics.
  • Familiarity with project management tools or processes to support smooth execution.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a track record of driving tasks to completion.
  • Experience with using AI tools for creating, editing, and optimizing content.
  • General understanding of SEO, GEO, and AEO tactics and curiosity to experiment and develop a discoverability strategy.

Your SmartBear total rewards compensation package includes base salary and may also include a performance bonus plan. The base salary range for this role is listed below. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
