Consumer Insights Manager
Job Summary
The Consumer Insights Manager will join a growing and collaborative team leading key work to help drive growth across the TJX portfolio of brands. The manager will be responsible for leading and influencing custom consumer research (including creative testing, ethnographic understanding, merchandising trends, category drivers and barriers, etc.) and owning a key internal research panel capability.
The successful candidate should demonstrate strong analytics and insight generation, business acumen, and ability to distill complex data into a simple story. They will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Marketing, Merchandising, Senior Leaders, other global Insights Leaders, as well as our external research partners.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Lead consumer insights work to help drive marketing strategy, such as creative testing, consumer deep dives, ad hoc research, etc.
- Lead consumer insights work to help drive merchandising strategy, including department research, leveraging secondary market data, leading and envisioning the strategy for tracking merchandise trends.
- Lead insights from key longitudinal and custom panel research and own and optimize the panel capability to drive greater impact and efficiency.
- Analyze quantitative data and understand the why behind the data through qualitative learnings.
- Connect the dots across various data sources to determine overall implications and create and deliver compelling presentations to influence multiple stakeholders with insights generated.
- Manage one direct report and cultivate relationships across TJX and with agencies and vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; Minimum 5+ years’ experience in consumer insights/market research
- Background in leading end to end insight generation- envisioning the right approach, leading analysis, and generating insight and action- from primary research, ideally including significant quantitative experience
- Naturally curious with passion for understanding customer behavior and trends, advocating for the customer, and growing in the Insights & Analytics function
- Adept at presenting complex concepts in an easy to understand and actionable way
- Attention to details and able to grasp the big picture
- Strong collaboration and ability to keep projects on track
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Prior management / leadership experience is a plus
