GE Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consulting Engineer specializing in PMC (Polymer Matrix Composites) and Ox-Ox (Oxide Oxide). The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and mentoring, drive innovation, and support the development and application of advanced composite materials for aerospace applications. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Champion for technology, process and tool advancement
- Provide technical consultation and collaborative, inclusive leadership for the engine life cycle, particularly in the area of Polymeric Composites and Oxide-oxide Manufacturing… Create, Execute and Maintain
- Provide leadership and guidance during the producibility review process, in preparation for Tollgate 9 readiness, as well as preside over formal technology and manufacturing milestone reviews
- Participate in manufacturing pyramid and relevant design board activities
- Promote division wide initiatives related to safety and reliability, supporting accurate certification and continued airworthiness
- Represent the Chief Engineer’s Office in matters related to manufacturing excellence … practices, reviews, and manufacturing pyramid and relevant design board activities, leverages synergies with other GE manufacturing communities
- Stays current and involved with GE Global Research, aerospace industry, academia and regulatory initiatives to ensure state of the art competitiveness
- Provide technical mentoring to the global Controlled Titled Holder community and pipeline
- Support Technology and Operations Division quality initiatives
- Provide leadership, experience and knowledge to help proactively identify and solve technical problems
- Promotes the documentation of lessons learned and their dissemination across the organization
- Support technical training and development initiatives … e.g., Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MEDP), Advanced Course in Engineering (ACE), and manufacturing pyramid-specific training
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in component manufacturing engineering
