Job DescriptionConsultants for various and unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. (HQ: Chicago, IL). Independently plan and deliver database data warehouse and storage architecture. Maintain and manage design services, provide sizing and configuration assistance and perform needs assessments. Analyze current business practices, processes and procedures. Identify future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities. Manage relationships with potential architectural impact of different vendor strategies. Ensure development of training and documentation for technical architecture, systems use and maintenance. Plan and integrate next-generation database technologies into the architectural strategy. Ensure efficient operation of database software. Mentor junior IT staff. Job Requirements
*Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any Engineering Field plus two years of experience in job offered or as an Analyst or in database or software systems administration required. Required Skills: MapR, distribution & clusters, elastic MapReduce, RHEL Administration, upgrades, configuration, evaluation of emerging technologies in Hadoop space; Dremio, R, R Studio; big data clusters, business intelligence tools; AWS Big Data, DevOps, Ansible, Python, Distributed Systems Networking, Kubernetes. Telecommuting permitted.
