Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented Configuration Manager to help us in our mission by ensuring the seamless management of configuration changes and maintaining the integrity of our spacecraft systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Configuration Manager on board of Digital Team, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:
Own internal configuration structures, derive a strategy to adapt them to serve both internal and external requirements;
Own configuration review and configuration management processes - ex. Baselining, subcontractor management, NASA/ESA reviews, etc.
Ensure consistency of documents/deliverables by actively supporting configuration owners with agile & continuous reviews and feedback mechanisms;
Own deliverables around configuration management: Configuration Protocol, As-built Configuration List (ABCL), Configuration Item Data List (CIDL), etc.
Analyse and report on configuration data using script languages such as python
Build reports using Business Intelligence tools such as Metabase
Automate configuration management tasks by developing scripts and/or using modern technical solutions (like AI)
Support internal stakeholders adaption of configuration process and mindset;
Conform configuration management practices across multitude of tools used within engineering domain; (Siemens Teamcenter as PLM, Epsilon3 as Manufacturing Execution System, Git , etc.)
Define when (and how) to tradeoff agility with strictness of configuration throughout the project lifecycle;
Own and execute restructuring/cleaning activities in our configuration management tool
Offload Engineering teams by taking care of configuration management tasks such as data pack creation, delivery of datapacks, and reports
In the role of Configuration Manager, ideally, you will have the following:
Proven experience in configuration management, preferably in a high-tech or innovative industry setting.
Comfortable with writing basic python scripts
Knowledge of web interfaces such as Restful APIs
Knowledge of BI tooling such as Metabase
Proficiency with Git
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Willingness to be available beyond general working hours in order to support deliveries and milestones
Service oriented mindset
A plus would be:
Familiarity with ECSS/NASA standards and process requirements (EN9100)
Experience with managing configuration changes in a spacecraft or aerospace environment
A degree in computer science or a related field
