Location: US Remote - Southeast Michigan

Reports To: Managing Director - AI Solutions Engineering

The Role:

Our team works directly with customers to understand their problems, and then design and implement data-driven solutions to help solve them. You will combine problem solving, creative, and technical skills to own end-to-end execution of high impact projects. Small and efficient multidisciplinary teams work together in a dynamic environment, with evolving objectives and frequent iteration with customer stakeholders.

The Impact You Will Have in This Role:

Collaborating with customers, business and data domain experts, computer and data scientists, you will create functional prototypes, new application and data deliverables, enhance existing products, support teams from across the wider organization, learn new skills, and explore new ways of combining the latest technology and data. These solutions will help both our customers and colleagues make better decisions and achieve greater outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing in This Role:

  • Creating new applications and product deliverables using a variety of skills, from rapid prototyping tools to advanced all-code solutions.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines for large and complex datasets.
  • Driving the novel use of Artificial Intelligence models in production use cases.
  • Collecting relevant information and demonstrating good judgement in selecting methods to obtain solutions.
  • Coordinating and collaborating within a dynamic team, utilizing collective skills and expertise to plan for long-term success.
  • Presenting your solutions and findings to stakeholders.
  • Self-governing your use of best practices and conventions, while participating in peer reviews with your colleagues, and documenting your work and decisions.

Qualifications of this Role:

  • A strong engineering background, with an education in Computer Science or related fields.
  • A logical, practical, and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong, clear, and professional customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts accurately and succinctly with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Strong programming skills with proficiency in languages such as Python, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and a willingness to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Experience with data engineering fundamentals, ingesting data, designing efficient and practical data schemas.
  • Experience building and delivering software or web-based applications to end users.
  • General knowledge and interest in state-of-the-art technology, with familiarity in using Generative AI and awareness of key concepts.
  • A quick learner who is willing to make decisions, take action, accept responsibility, and ensure that our clients can rely on us to deliver excellence.
  • Experience working with the Palantir Foundry platform is desirable, but not essential.
  • Automotive data and domain knowledge is desirable, but not essential.
  • Willing and able to travel as needed to meet with customers, colleagues, and business partners.

The Hiring Manager says:

An ideal candidate might find joy in problem solving and discovering novel ways to solve a problem. You will be designing and implementing thoughtful and robust technical solutions, with freedom and autonomy to be creative in the approach. Don't expect a step-by-step how-to guide but do expect to collaborate with other like-minded people to find solutions.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
