Job Overview
As a systematic asset manager, Arrowstreet must identify investable trading strategies and implement them quickly and with the highest quality. Having a robust, scalable, and performant general compute platform and workflow system is thus of critical importance. You will be joining the compute platforms team, which is responsible for the development of various compute, workflow, and observability services and systems for the Research group.
The ideal candidate should be interested in building scalable applications and distributed systems on AWS Cloud-based infrastructure. The expectation of the role is to be hands-on – you will design, develop, test, build, deploy and support the functionality. The work includes developing applications and automation tools, Infrastructure-As-Code solutions, and CICD pipelines with unit and integrated tests that ensure high quality and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
As an intern, you will work on projects that extend the feature offerings of our advanced workflow orchestration platform, develop applications and tools to automate and scale the platform’s operations, and accelerate the adoption of various technologies and platforms across the entire company.
Qualifications

Enrolled in an undergraduate program studying computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, data science, or a related discipline. Expected degree completion within a year of the internship.

Applied algorithmic and systems engineering experience through academic projects

Experience using Python or another object-oriented language

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS is a plus, but not required

Demonstrated interest in a software engineering career path

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Motivated, curious and enthusiastic
