About the Role

rePurpose Global helps consumer brands meet their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations for packaging across a fast-growing set of U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions. Packaging EPR is now live in a growing number of U.S. states — each with its own producer definitions, fee structures, reporting categories, and deadlines — and the pace of change is only accelerating. Producers count on us to help them navigate this complexity with confidence, which relies on experts who grasp dense regulatory text and turn it into simple, actionable direction.

As a Compliance & Sustainability Intelligence Manager, you'll own the outward-facing side of that work: tracking regulatory change as it happens, educating customers and prospects, and translating dense statutory and program requirements into guidance producers can act on with confidence. This position carries the broadest go-to-market workload on the team, with a primary focus on the U.S. regulatory landscape. It's a highly visible role — you'll be one of the main faces of rePurpose Global's regulatory and compliance expertise to the market.

A defining part of the job is our webinar program, which you'll own end to end: shaping the topic and narrative, building the content, presenting live to audiences of producers, and fielding the technical and regulatory questions that follow. Between webinars, you'll answer the steady stream of customer and prospect questions that come with a shifting regulatory environment, produce written regulatory intelligence and market education, and equip our sales and customer teams with the talking points and materials they need. You'll work closely with our technical, product, and customer success teams, feeding market insight back into the product and flagging changes that affect how packaging is classified and reported.

This position is remote, but we prefer candidates located in New York or on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track U.S. regulatory change and turn it into intelligence. Monitor enacted and emerging state programs, their reporting cycles, rulemaking activity, PRO program plans, administrative guidance, and enforcement timelines — and distill what's changing into guidance the team and customers can use.
  • Be a trusted first point of contact for regulatory questions. Field customer and prospect questions on EPR obligations, fees, reporting categories, exemptions, and deadlines with empathy and clarity, converting dense rules into plain-language, service-oriented guidance that builds producer confidence and establishes audit-ready documentation.
  • Own the webinar & thought leadership program. Plan the calendar and topics, build the content and narrative, host live sessions for producer audiences, and lead the follow-up Q&A — treating webinars as a core, recurring pillar of our market education and audience growth.
  • Create education and enablement content. Write regulatory briefs, policy gap assessments, regulatory updates, blog posts, FAQs, explainers, and one-pagers, and build the talking points and materials that equip the sales, marketing, and customer success teams to speak accurately and authoritatively about EPR.
  • Carry the market presence. Represent rePurpose Global in public-facing settings — producer education, industry engagement, comment-period and rulemaking awareness — and stay close to how regulators, PROs, and producers are interpreting the rules.
  • Close the loop with the technical and product teams. Flag regulatory changes that affect packaging classification, fees, or reporting so they can be reflected in our compliance software and product roadmap, and bring recurring customer questions back as input that shapes the platform experience.

Requirements

  • A relevant foundation. A background in EPR, packaging or environmental policy, sustainability, regulatory affairs, or a related field — built in industry, at a PRO or consultancy, or through study in environmental science, public policy, law, or packaging.
  • Deep EPR / packaging-policy expertise. Experience in plastics and packaging policy, circular economy, waste management, or Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), with a working command of how these programs actually operate — governance, financing, PRO structures, and enforcement.
  • Regulatory fluency and range. Ability to independently read, interpret, and track statutory and program text across multiple jurisdictions, and to hold the differences between them accurately rather than generalizing, with the range to run scenario modeling that shows producers how differing rules affect their portfolios.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Genuine comfort speaking publicly and hosting webinars and live Q&A, plus strong writing for a non-expert audience — you can make a complex rule feel simple without losing what matters.
  • Customer- and stakeholder-facing polish. Confidence in engaging producers, prospects, regulators, and industry groups, and the judgment to know how much detail each audience needs.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and pace. The ability to stay organized and credible in a fast-moving regulatory environment where guidance is often incomplete, and deadlines compress.
  • Self-direction. A track record of owning a domain end-to-end with minimal oversight in a remote, cross-functional team.

Nice to Have

These are a plus, not a requirement — we welcome strong candidates who bring the core profile above.

  • Brand- or producer-side experience. Time spent in-house at a brand or producer navigating EPR obligations or packaging compliance first-hand, so you understand the pressures and data constraints our customers face.
  • Industry engagement. Participation in advisory committees, working groups, trade associations, or industry coalitions.
  • Content and programming. A history of creating content or educational programming for a technical or regulatory audience.
  • Adjacent regulatory exposure. Familiarity with recycled-content mandates, labeling laws (e.g., recyclability claims, chasing arrows restrictions), or other circular-economy rules that intersect with packaging EPR.
  • Packaging EPR & eco-modulation frameworks. Direct exposure to eco-modulation fee models, design-for-recyclability (D4R) guidelines, or state-level rulemaking comment periods.
