Job Description

We’re looking for a Regulatory Compliance Senior Specialist to join our growing team and enable Wise to take the business to the next level in accordance with our regulatory obligations, as we continue to pioneer new ways for people and businesses to send, spend and manage their money across borders and currencies. The role is based in Tallinn, Estonia.  

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion and submission of regulatory reports, obtaining data from Analysts and providing relevant explanation and commentary.

  • Writing and updating regulatory reporting guidelines for Wise Europe.

  • Working with cross-team stakeholders to improve data governance, including standards for data collection, validation, reporting, error management and resubmissions, as well as record keeping and assurance processes.

  • Supporting our incident management and reporting obligations, working closely with stakeholders from Engineering, Security, Product and wider teams during active incidents and crisis situations, and serving as a point of contact for regulators during these events.

  • Assessing incidents in line with the materiality thresholds under the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

  • Communicating with regulators and authorities and taking ownership of submitted regulatory reports.

  • Identifying risks and opportunities to improve the ways we track, monitor and deliver data to recipient authorities, including optimising compliance tooling and building  effective cross-team relationships with the Analytics and Finance teams, to ensure that compliance requirements are understood and addressed.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Support with our compliance with regulatory engagement and reporting obligations 

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Wise’s customers and products and be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

  • Help keep our Products safe and compliant. 

  • Choose your own path to impact and success - you’ll be part of the regulatory compliance team of our  Belgian entity but you will be empowered to have ownership from day one

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and attention to detail.

  • A data-driven, structured approach to problem-solving.

  • Passion for understanding complex data and regulatory guidelines.

  • Composure and accountability in challenging situations.

  • Proficient communication skills, particularly in English drafting.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and represent regulatory requirements, argumentation and risks compellingly.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Previous experience in working in a compliance team of a financial institution is a plus but not required - this is a great opportunity, if you are interested to follow a career in compliance

Additional Information

Salary: €2,800 - €3,800 gross monthly + RSUs
