CleanChoice Energy, a national renewable energy company that empowers people and businesses to cut emissions and live cleaner, healthier lives, is seeking a Compliance Filings Analyst to join the Compliance Department. Job Description 

This role will be focused on retail energy compliance filings and licensing. We are looking for someone who is familiar with the retail electric industry, and who is a self-starter with exceptional organization skills and good judgment. The ideal candidate will work with a minimal level of supervision and should have an interest in working with colleagues across multiple departments to manage compliance filings.   This person will report to the Senior Manager of Compliance and will not have direct reports. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze information to prepare and complete compliance filings for numerous state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the filings calendar. 
  • Apply critical thinking and knowledge of the company to identify red flags in filing information.
  • Enhance company reputation by taking initiative to ask questions and respond to requests for information from external parties. 
  • Coordinate the review of filings and sign-off by senior leadership to ensure filings are made on time.
  • Work cross departmentally to assist with a variety of business challenges as they occur and relate to compliance matters.
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience in compliance, regulatory, or policy role, or a related field
  • Experience in retail electric markets strongly preferred
  • Qualification as a notary, or ability to become qualified, is strongly preferred
  • Excellent computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to effectively manage competing deadlines
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and capable 
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills
  • Passionate about the environment and renewable energy

 

Travel

 
  • Minimal travel for team off-site meetings approximately 2x/year

Work Environment 

 
  • Hybrid - the seasonality of this job’s busy period will require more in-person work during the Spring particularly during this candidate’s training period (40-60% in-person, or 2-3 days a week). The Senior Manager expects the candidate to be able to work remotely for much of the Summer and Winter season (0-20% in-person, or 0-1 days a week). Determination of the in-person days will be made in collaboration with the candidate’s manager. CleanChoice’s DC HQ is located in the West End and accessible via the Orange/Blue/Silver and Red Lines and Bus. 
  • Candidate will need to have a reasonable workspace to handle business confidential information and take video/call meetings;
  • A printer/scanner is required and will be reimbursed by the company.
