📐 About this role

The GenerativeAI space is the most dynamic technology shift in the last decade. The rate of innovation is breathtaking, and the most dynamic companies will successfully maneuver the numerous transitions to capture a massive market. 

We are looking for our first Director of market & competitive intelligence to help build the best competitive program in the GenerativeAI space. Our ideal candidate is scrappy and dynamic, and collaborative. 

  • Scrappy - we want someone to get into the details and understand the market from the inside out. 

  • Dynamic - from facilitating strategic leadership conversations to running product teardowns or to preparing a sales deck, we want an individual who can flexibility navigate different situations is critical. 

  • Collaborative - we want someone that can pull all parts of the company to contribute to the program in a way that it feels bigger than one person. 

Most importantly, we want a competitive program that isn’t just philosophical but one that helps win new customers and navigate product and market decisions.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

  • Monitor all alerts & news from a variety of internal and external sources and create a digest for leadership. 

  • Proactively review support documentation & help centers to ascertain new product developments

  • Ensure competitive positioning is reflected in everything we do 

  • Refine marketing positioning and narrative

  • Build sales battlecards, decks, one-pagers, and other assets to help win deals. 

  • Run product teardowns and convert them into compelling insights

  • Work with our marketing team to leverage analyst relations for market insights

  • Create a process to gather Insights directly from the field - SDR, sales, CS, etc

  • Maintain our source of truth for competitive and market intelligence

⭐️ Is this you?

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a consulting, strategy, business operations, or equivalent market insights role

  • You think like a VC (venture capitalist) AND like a detective - You are able to abstract all signals into high level strategy and trends AND dig into the minute details. 

  • Your self-imposed bar for excellence is higher than your manager’s

  • Experience building sales collateral, shaping marketing narratives, and deconstructing product capabilities

  • Thrives in ambiguity and can create paved roads from dirt paths

  • A trusted advisor and partner for all levels of the organization

  • Possesses humility — no work is too trivial if it’s impactful

  • Resilient and open to honest (and kind) feedback; tough skin

  • Proactive communication skills, both sync and async

  • Experience managing and building relationships across multiple departments and stakeholder levels

  • A natural affinity to our values of connect, challenge, own
