Overview

FMI is seeking a motivated, analytically minded Compensation Consultant to join its growing Compensation & Rewards team. This role is ideal for an individual already gaining total rewards consulting experience who is ready to take on increasing responsibility in project delivery, client interaction, and compensation analysis. Working as part of a collaborative consulting team, this position supports a broad range of compensation engagements for diverse A/E/C clients and others in related industries.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in compensation consulting engagements, from project kick-off through final report development and presentation.
  • Conduct market benchmarking analyses utilizing a variety of compensation surveys and market data sources.
  • Coordinate within internal project teams to evaluate job roles and career paths, develop salary structures, design incentive plans, and refine compensation-related programs to meet clients’ objectives.
  • Prepare client-ready reports, presentations, and data insights utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, AI-enabled technologies, and other data visualization and analysis tools.
  • Attend client meetings and confidently communicate technical concepts and data-driven findings and recommendations.
  • Organize and prioritize assignments to ensure work is completed within established scopes, timelines, and budgets.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of FMI Compensation & Rewards analytical tools, methodologies, and internal processes.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues across FMI.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • 4 + years of professional consulting experience in compensation, total rewards, or a related advisory environment.
  • 3 + years of experience conducting compensation benchmarking analyses using multiple compensation survey sources.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Tableau or other analytical tools.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, market pricing methodologies, and employee compensation practices in the United States.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
