- Assure that the care and welfare of laboratory animals is maintained in compliance with or exceeding local, state, and federal regulations and AAALAC International guidelines
- Manage and engage animal care and technical staff at the site ensuring clear expectations of performance and adherence to established policies and procedures
- Assist in the hiring, mentoring, training and development of a diverse population of colleagues
- Act as an interface with the research community and ensure basic husbandry to complex specialty technical services is provided, including back up scheduling activities in Office Tracker
- Support effective management of physical resources along with operations management with responsibilities relating to supply order, inventory and/or invoice reconciliation
- Identify methods and procedures that have potential to increase staff safety, workflow, and operational efficiency
