Job Summary:

The Subject Matter Expert - Community Operations serves as a trusted advisor to prospective and current customers as well as internal OpenGov teams. The Subject Matter Expert leverages technical and subject matter expertise to guide clients through product evaluations and business value demonstrations. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to adapt solutions and resolve customer challenges. The Subject Matter Expert works independently on varied and complex assignments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with members of the Sales, Professional Services, Research and Development, and Customer Success teams as an integral part of the OpenGov ecosystem.

  • Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to assess customer needs and pain points.

  • Prepare and present product demonstrations that highlight efficiency improvements and strategic benefits.

  • Prepare and present product demonstrations in context of "As Is" vs "To-Be" customer process.

  • Build Technical Champions amongst prospective customers.

  • Lead technical evaluations of OpenGov solutions.

  • Identify and build proof of concepts.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in any of the following areas: Public Works, Community Development, Planning, Permitting, Utility Billing, GIS.

  • Strong technical acumen and experience leveraging Software.

  • Knowledge of ERP modules such as General Ledgers, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchase Orders, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Grants Management, Tax, Utility Billing, and Purchase Cards, is a nice to have.

  • Up to 25% travel

  • This job is located in an OpenGov Office

Compensation:
$100,000 - $110,000

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
