Primary Purpose: This role is responsible for developing and implementing internal communications for Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) and the other Ahold Delhaize USA companies we support. Responsibilities include developing communications plans, strategies and tactics and partnering within the communications team, business partners and clients to execute them. This position plays a key role in strategizing and executing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) communications plans and strategies, including partnering closely with the DEI team and company. Duties span all aspects of internal communications, including business partnering, internal channels management (intranet, email, publications), writing and editing across a variety of mediums and managing assigned projects. This individual also partners closely with external communications colleagues to ensure consistency of communication across both internal and external channels.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated internal communications plans, strategies and tactics for ADUSA and its clients.
  • Support development and execution of the Retail Business Services brand, including contributing to brand visuals, messaging and tone, and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines. Work closely with graphic designers to bring brand to life across channels and activations.
  • Design and execute DEI communications plans and activations and supports the communications needs of the company's DEI strategy and BRGs.
  • Key contributor and editor of content for the company's communication channels, including intranet, website, internal publications, and video, as well as recommends and initiates new channels for communications.
  • Manage internal communications measurement and reporting and recommends and executes shifts in communication strategy to increase success based on measurement and feedback of existing communications.
  • Acts as an experienced strategist providing communications counsel and advice to business partners, as needed, on key communications initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other communications colleagues, business partners and clients on key initiatives and programs.
  • Develop and execute communications plans on special projects or other initiatives.
  • Organizational context: This position is responsible for providing strategic communications for key projects and initiatives, as well as managing the tools and process for the communication function. In addition, the individual will provide back-up support to team members, as needed.
  • Framework & guidelines: This individual will operate as a collaborative member of an integrated communications team of professionals, with ability for providing communications advice and decision-making.
  • Financial dimension: The incumbent will provide recommendations for potential budgets for associated tools, programs and projects.
  • Degree of latitude: The incumbent in this position must be able to combine decisive and careful judgment in fast-moving internal communications situations.
