What You'll Do:
Develop and maintain core messaging and value propositions for CIS’s SLTT‑focused programs, services, and initiatives
Create compelling, high‑quality content, including announcements, executive talking points, web copy, thought leadership, campaign materials, and member‑focused communications
Ensure message alignment and consistency across SLTT communications, public-sector narratives, and CIS-wide communications priorities
Plan and execute strategic communications and reputational campaigns that elevate CIS’s credibility and leadership within the SLTT community
Collaborate with internal teams and internal/external stakeholders to amplify key initiatives across media, digital channels, and public‑sector communications opportunities
Support national and trade media outreach through content development (pitches, press materials, briefing documents), in partnership with Communications leadership
Work closely with internal leaders, product marketing managers, program owners, SLTT engagement teams, and MS-/EI-ISAC representatives to inform and refine communications strategies
Partner on targeted audience segmentation and persona development to ensure communications resonate with SLTT decision-makers and practitioners
Contribute to the development of standardized presentation materials for external events, ensuring high-quality narrative and visual clarity
Identify, cultivate, and leverage third‑party advocacy voices — including SLTT members, partners, and independent experts — to develop testimonials, case studies, quotes, and other supporting materials that strengthen CIS’s credibility and reputation within the SLTT community
Support continuous improvement of MS-/EI-ISAC member communications by contributing to more streamlined, timely, and audience-relevant messaging across touchpoints
Provide content for the CIS Portal and assist in shaping a consistent member experience
Develop social media copy and support SLTT‑focused social media engagement strategies, including crafting platform‑specific posts, amplifying key initiatives through social channels, and collaborating with Communications and Marketing partners to optimize reach and engagement
Conduct research to support messaging, campaign development, and thought leadership
Assist with media training preparations and communications guidance for internal subject-matter experts

What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public affairs, political science, or a related discipline*
5+ years of professional communications experience, preferably in technology, cybersecurity, or government/public-sector contexts
Superior writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a demonstrated ability to translate technical or complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives
Experience developing content for campaigns, media engagement, and/or public-sector audiences
Experience collaborating across diverse stakeholder groups and managing projects in a fast-paced environment
Must be authorized to work in the United States
It's a Plus if You Have:
Experience working with federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial government organizations
Experience supporting or executing integrated marketing and communications strategies
Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to support communications and content development efforts
Familiarity with communications measurement and analytics platforms (e.g., Talkwalker, Muck Rack, PowerBI)
Experience with content management platforms (e.g., Optimizely)
Knowledge of cybersecurity, information sharing communities, or public-sector technology environments
Demonstrated ability to write for both technical and general audiences
Experience with Agile or Lean methodologies
*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

Compensation Range:
