Role summary

Alteryx is seeking a creative and innovative CEO Executive Communications & PR leader to build and run the CEO’s visibility, reputation, and thought leadership engine. This role is singularly focused on elevating the CEO as a credible, consistent voice in the market—driving high-impact media (including TV), shaping narratives, and managing CEO social channels to accelerate brand awareness and establish Alteryx as a leader in data intelligence.

This person is equal parts strategist and operator: they will architect the CEO narrative, secure and execute top-tier media opportunities, and run a disciplined editorial cadence in tight partnership with Corporate Communications and the corporate PR team.

What you’ll own

CEO Narrative and Positioning

  • Develop the CEO’s proprietary narrative platform (core themes, POVs, proof points) aligned to Alteryx strategy, differentiation, and market opportunities.

  • Translate company strategy into CEO-ready messaging, including crisp “so what” articulation for business, tech, and data/AI audiences.

  • Create and maintain a CEO message house, briefing library, and standing Q&A.

Broadcast (including TV)

  • Lead CEO media strategy and execution: target outlet strategy, story angles, pitch calendar, and proactive/reactive plans.

  • Secure and manage high-impact interviews, including TV appearances when strategically relevant.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key reporters, editors, producers, and influential voices in business, tech, and the data/AI ecosystem.

  • Oversee preparation for all CEO media moments: talking points, interview briefs, mock Q&As, and on-the-spot support.

CEO Social and Executive Content Engine

  • Own CEO social channels (e.g., LinkedIn and other priority platforms) end-to-end:

    • Develop CEO voice, cadence, and guardrails

    • Draft and publish content; manage approvals

    • Convert CEO moments into high-performing posts, clips, and commentary

    • Track performance and iterate with intention (not vanity metrics)

    • Build a repeatable system to turn interviews, keynotes, customer stories, and announcements into a steady stream of executive-grade content.

Editorial and Operating Rhythm

  • Partner in running weekly editorial meetings with the Corporate Communications leader and corporate PR team – exclusively focused on the CEO:

    • Editorial themes and narrative pull-through

    • Upcoming opportunities and news hooks

    • CEO visibility calendar and priorities

    • Risk review and rapid response readiness

  • Ensure tight coordination across PR, marketing, product, and (as needed) investor relations—so CEO visibility is aligned, timely, and credible.

Reputation and Issues Partnership

  • Partner with Corporate Comms/PR leadership on issue preparedness, crisis communications support, and CEO response protocols.

  • Establish and maintain governance for CEO statements: speed with discipline, clear escalation paths, and sound judgment.

Measurement and Impact

  • Define and report on CEO visibility success metrics (quality and impact, not just activity).

  • Tier-1 coverage quality and message pull-through

  • Share of voice vs. relevant peers

  • CEO social engagement quality and audience growth in priority segments

  • Speaking/visibility impact and content amplification performance

Qualifications

Required

  • 5–10+ years in executive communications, PR, media relations, or strategic communications with direct CEO/C-suite support experience.

  • Proven ability to secure top-tier earned media, including experience managing broadcast/TV opportunities.

  • Exceptional executive writing/editing skills—can draft quickly, clearly, and in an authentic CEO voice.

  • Strong editorial judgment and news instincts; ability to identify and create compelling story angles.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management (Office of the CEO, Comms, PR, Marketing, Legal, IR).

Preferred

  • Experience in B2B technology; data/analytics/AI/enterprise software strongly preferred.

  • Existing relationships with priority reporters/producers (or a track record of building them quickly).

  • Experience building modern executive social strategy that drives credibility, trust, and talent impact.

  • Narrative clarity: can create a durable CEO platform that differentiates Alteryx

  • Media instincts: knows what is truly newsworthy and how to package it

  • Operating discipline: can run a tight editorial cadence and keep teams aligned

  • Executive presence: can advise the CEO with confidence and tact

  • Speed + judgment: can move fast without introducing risk
