The Opportunity
As a Communications Consultant in Field Content & Communications, you will consult with leaders and business partners on effective communication strategies enabling business growth and sales effectiveness. You will deliver creative, engaging, and accurate messaging to best meet business' needs while understanding the audience's preferences for consuming information. You will monitor communication effectiveness and adjust as needed to ensure the business needs are met. You will also foster a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to experiment and learn while also acting as a collaborative team member focused on results. The Team
The Field Content & Communications Team, as part of the broader MassMutual Financial Advisors Organization, is responsible for a creating the overall content and communication strategy for our MMFA field force, working with our business partners to identify their communications needs and key objectives then creating a plan for effective ways to communicate (video, audio, written, online portal content, etc.) clearly and articulately utilizing our defined content strategy approach. We are also responsible for measuring and analyzing our efforts in the spirit of continuous improvement and transparency.

Effective communication is essential within our industry to support the field force as they navigate ongoing change and drive business growth. Business leaders depend on writers who demonstrate critical thinking and a partnership mindset, enabling them to develop and execute communication strategies that achieve measurable objectives. This team collaborates with content strategists, designers, and business partners to address communication needs, establish strategies, and create materials for impactful communication solutions. Writers act as primary internal communication advisors, offering guidance and ensuring the consistency and quality of messaging. Furthermore, they coordinate with communication professionals across different areas of the organization to deliver integrated communication plans, and they produce clear, concise communications tailored to diverse internal audiences and platforms.
The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of communications writing experience
  • 3 + years of experience in content management systems

The Ideal Qualifications
  • 7+ years of communications experience specific to internal/employee communications.
  • Experience with field-distribution channels like independent brokers, career agents and wholesalers.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Ability to partner with people of diverse backgrounds, ideas, and experiences.
  • Team player who values colleagues' success.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to act with integrity.

Salary Range: $95,100-$124,800
