This role also supports communication needs for high-profile company-wide initiatives as they arise.

The Impact
The communication consultant will help drive strategic communications for MassMutual's business and technology organizations. The candidate is responsible for developing internal communications strategies, presentations, talking points, and other materials of the highest caliber, and will work closely with business partners, up to and including member of the senior leadership team, to identify communication needs and implement effective communication solutions using both traditional and emerging media tactics (e.g., written, visual, video, etc.).
- Work with internal partners to identify communications opportunities and then implement effective communication solutions related to these opportunities, providing strong communication counsel to ensure consistency and quality of communications.
- Lead various enterprise-wide communication initiatives as needed.
- Develop clear, concise, and creative communications for a variety of platforms (e.g., presentations, email, intranet, digital screens, social media, etc.)
- Partner with the broader Strategic Communications team as needed, (e.g., media relations, executive communication, digital/design team) to develop clear and consistent communications and bring them to life on a variety of platforms (e.g., presentations, email, intranet, digital screens, etc.)
- Actively contribute to editorial meetings and internal communications strategy sessions.
- Participate in data-driven analysis of communications effectiveness and adapt/respond to findings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in communications, journalism, or related field
- 8+ years of communications experience, with 3+ years specific to internal communications
Ideal Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead multi-faceted, cross functional communication projects
- Extensive experience working directly with senior leaders
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely on a variety of topics
- Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Commitment to understanding and applying communication best practices, as well as creative and innovative techniques to communications as appropriate
- Proven ability to succeed in an environment where priorities can shift quickly
- Possesses strong business acumen and ability to "connect the dots"
