About the Role

We’re seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Commercial Insights & Reporting Analyst to power decision-making across our Sales, Product, and Marketing organizations. This is a high-impact role focused on turning market, customer, and retail data into actionable insights that drive revenue growth, optimize promotions, and shape strategy. The ideal candidate brings both analytical depth and strategic thinking. You’ll not only report on what’s happening but help us understand why it’s happening and what we should do about it.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Sales leadership with insight-driven materials for key retailer meetings, including line reviews, promotional strategy sessions, and business reviews

• Analyze large, complex datasets from sources such as Stackline, Circana, Walmart Luminate or Retail Link, and POS data to identify business trends, risks, and growth opportunities

• Deliver clear, visual, and action-oriented reporting and commentary to Sales, Marketing, and Product leaders to support short-term decisions and long-term planning

• Lead or co-lead deep-dive insight projects (e.g., promo ROI, pricing sensitivity, competitor mix-shift, category trend diagnostics) with cross-functional stakeholders

• Collaborate with Finance during planning cycles to build TAM models and market trend assumptions to inform roadmap, inventory, and revenue planning

• Forecast performance using historical trends, event multipliers, and competitive benchmarks

• Deliver quarterly commercial insights briefings to cross-functional stakeholders, summarizing key shifts, threats, and opportunity areas

• Monitor key business metrics and dashboards, and proactively flag anomalies or outliers that require deeper analysis

• Partner with Sales Operations to enhance reporting infrastructure and automate core insights delivery

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field

• 3–6 years of experience working with market and POS data in consumer goods, retail, or ecommerce

• Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including dynamic dashboards, pivot tables, and modeling

• Hands-on experience with tools and platforms including Stackline, Circana, and Walmart data portals (Luminate or Retail Link)

• Experience with Tableau for building visual dashboards and executive-ready charts

• Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, compelling stories

• Attention to detail and excellent data management hygiene

• Collaborative mindset with comfort working across Sales, Finance, and Product teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL or willingness to learn basic querying

• Familiarity with Amazon Brand Analytics or other ecommerce insights platforms

• Prior work supporting account teams with retailer-facing insights or promotional planning

• Background in product lifecycle support, pricing strategy, or sales forecasting

Success in This Role Looks Like

• Strategic decisions are informed by timely, actionable insights—not just reports

• Your recommendations shape promotional strategies, product roadmaps, and retailer negotiations

• Cross-functional teams rely on your work to spot risks, uncover opportunities, and validate key assumptions

• You are a trusted voice in business planning conversations, forecasting cycles, and go-to-market strategy sessions

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
