The Commercial Development Manager is an Individual Contributor role responsible for selling Medtronic DS1 and Touch Surgery Livestream platforms to hospitals across the US. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background in healthcare technology, excellent relationship-building skills, and a passion for driving business growth. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets for the DS1 and Livestream platforms.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders within hospitals, including executives, clinicians, and IT personnel.
  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations, articulating the value and benefits of the digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales engineers, IT, and legal, to manage the sales process from prospecting to closing.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Provide post-sale support and foster long-term relationships to drive product utilization and customer satisfaction.

Key Performance Metrics:

  • Achieve/exceed quota.
  • Execute new product launches.
  • Effective forecasting and opportunity management.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales experience within an IT or Healthcare industry
  • Field-based role that requires 75% travel within the territory

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling digital health technologies, medical devices, or capital equipment to hospitals, including managing long sales cycles, securing budget approvals, and working with capital expenditure committees.
  • Familiarity with hospital IT systems, cybersecurity, patient data privacy, and the ability to build strong relationships with hospital procurement, finance, and executive teams.
  • Experience selling digital health technologies or medical devices.
  • Familiarity with hospital IT systems, cybersecurity, and patient data privacy.
  • Demonstrated experience in selling capital equipment or capital devices to hospitals, including managing long sales cycles, securing budget approvals, and working with capital expenditure committees.
  • Ability to navigate complex sales environments and build strong relationships with hospital procurement, finance, and executive teams.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$150,000 - $150,000

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
