The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE) borrowers. This includes analyzing financial statements, preparing credit approval memoranda, and supporting the credit decision process in alignment with Leader Bank's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flows and projections of commercial borrowers.
- Prepare detailed Credit Approval Memoranda assessing repayment ability, collateral adequacy, creditworthiness, and loan structure with recommendation of approval.
- Conduct industry and market analysis to assess borrower risk.
- Collaborate with lending officers to gather borrower information and occasionally attend joint client calls.
- Ensure compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
- Review appraisals, environmental reports, and commitment letters for consistency with approval terms.
- Maintain documentation and compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 1-5 years of experience in commercial credit, loan underwriting, or financial analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and tools like MS Office software.
- Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
