About This Role:

The CNC Team Lead is responsible for the daily coordination of team performance, ensuring on-time schedules with zero quality and safety incidents. This role involves overseeing the CNC & brake team, performing project tasks as a contributing team member when possible (without compromising management responsibilities), and possessing the expertise to train and improve the team's performance. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of CNC operations, metal manufacturing, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Prior management experience is preferred. This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Team Communication and Coordination: Communicate the team’s daily department production details (production schedule, material shortages, team priorities, etc.), ensuring all work activities are assigned and coverage is planned for absences. Communicate team status to the Sr. Supervisor, identifying production constraints and other needs. Coordinate all team project tasks through the production team to ensure that CNC & brake meets project schedules.

  • Team Oversight and Performance Management: Oversee the CNC & brake team’s tasks to ensure quality of craftsmanship. Ensure team personnel understand all procedural changes and instructions. Oversee the team’s safety and quality to ensure job standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Train and coach team members on project tasks as needed, assessing their skills and training needs. Ensure that all team schedules are on track for completion on time, based on priorities and material lead times.

  • CNC Programming and Material Management: Oversee CNC programming to ensure accuracy of design and conformity to company standards. Ensure CNC material is accurately entered into the ERP system in a timely manner.

  • Technical Support and Problem Solving: Act as a resource to backfill CNC & brake associates, as well as programming. Review all project status and issues with the Sr. Supervisor to determine the course of action to meet quality and schedules. Teach/coach operators to recognize and resolve common equipment failures.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve procedures, processes, and methods to ensure safety/quality with zero injuries, defects, and excursions.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Technical Skills and Knowledge: Ability to check engineering drawings & CNC programs. Excellent understanding of CNC machine tools. Expert metal manufacturing experience is required.

  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor 3D design software, 2D AutoCAD, Excel, Trumpf Boost, MS Office, and Google products. Ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

  • Physical Requirements: Requires lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling merchandise up to 50 lbs. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back to operate machines and computers. Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.

  • Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $36-$43/hr and may pay more or less based on experience. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
